Matthew Toland

Matthew Toland is the new Managing Director of COSMA. His career has been dedicated to preserving and promoting cultural heritage through working with several museums and cultural institutions, where he spearheaded numerous initiatives to enhance and expand educational outreach programs, improve operations, and develop board relationships and skills. His experience spans a variety of roles, which have provided him with a comprehensive understanding of museum operations and the ever-evolving landscape of our field.

Beyond his professional life, he is a clarinetist, a stamp collector (no really) and world traveler. He is eager to bring his diverse experiences and personal passions to COSMA, working collaboratively with our talented team, dedicated members, and supportive community to advance our mission and provide for our SMAs and our nation's museums.
